Flitcroft turned down an offer from former club Rochdale last year to become their new manager but may find it difficult to reject the approach from a club he made over a hundred appearances for as a player. Barnsley have agreed a fee with Norwich City for Jacob Butterfield who joined the Carrow Road club a few weeks ago. The matter will no longer require the attention of a tribunal with the Reds happy to accept the amount offered for the midfielder who was out of contract at Oakwell – Butterfield is under the age of 24 and was offered an improved offer to stay at Barnsley, therefore a fee was required to secure the player.
