Keith Hill is understood to have offered former Republic of Ireland international Kevin Kilbane an opportunity to take on a playing and coaching role at Oakwell.
Kilbane was released by Hull City at the end of last season but the 35-year-old is in no hurry to hang up his boots just yet.
The midfielder has been covering Ireland’s games at Euro 2012 for the BBC and has not yet responded to the speculation.
